As a third generation artist, my career began at the age of nine. I sold my first painting from my grandmother’s gallery in Sunriver, Oregon. Throughout my life, I have created and sold my art while living in Mexico, Arizona, California, New York and Oregon. My drawings and paintings chronicle my travels and life experiences.
To me, drawing and painting are like acting. The time and the space in which I create, brings out different qualities of my character. I enjoy infusing my work with wit and humor by creating a visual language through the use of color, line, pattern and symbols. I prefer to work outside, as close to nature as possible and while traveling. I will often begin one piece on the beach, return to the studio to focus, and then back to the beach to finish it.
I am currently designing the sets for Reefer Madness for Out of the Box Production Co. The play will open in Santa Barbara at The Center Stage Theater in April 2010.
