My work explores ambiguous and multi-layered narratives. I am interested in capturing complex or ambiguous phenomena, such as fragments of memory or the perception of time.

In my digital photomontages, I create composite images by overlaying, blending and manipulating photographs. I begin by combining two or more photographs in an "accidental" fashion, then proceed by carefully studying and responding to the results. Such "controlled collisions” create visual interest by producing unexpected suggestions and meanings.

My interest in photomontages grew out of a background painting in oils and acrylics. After re-working and painting over canvases multiple times, I realized that this process leaves behind visible traces of previous images. I discovered these "accidents" can become fascinating when harnessed by the artist to produce intentional effects.
