These paintings began as an exploration of color fields and textures in the spring of 2008 after years of exploring the desert. A year later, after moving to the Napa Valley, my wife suggested that I bring my earlier drawings to life. This married two of my favorite techniques. Starting with fresco by layering texture and color I then began to paint a deliberate combination of designs found in my earlier drawings.
The drawings in this exhibit are prisma color and tempera on paper.
I also did a series of Martini art...most of which has sold.
