"My Brother's Flight- El Vuelo de mi Hermano" - a Retrospective Tribute of the Master Ernesto Muñoz Acosta.

Los Angeles, CA- ADC Contemporary Art Gallery at Factory Place Arts Complex in conjunction with The Government of Baja California, CEARTE, Center of the Arts Ensenada , The Institute of Culture of Baja California, CONACULTA and The General Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles are proud to present "My brother's Flight-El Vuelo de mi Hermano" -an amazing retrospective of the Master Ernesto Muñoz Acosta.

The exhibition taking place as part of the Mexican Independence celebration, as well as part of the International Art Exchange Program "BUILDING BRIDGES".

This exhibition includes drawings, paintings and objects from Muñoz Acosta's early years, 1977 to the present..

Most of the exhibition will be a selection from the permanent private collection of the Cultural Institute of Baja California.

We will introduce his latest book and life documentary project directed by Jaime E. Delfin Villafuerte (Cearte - Building Bridges) as well as the traveling exhibition with Building Bridges.

The documentary "Life and work of Ernesto" tells the story of his life and the process that led him to become a painter. It spans from his childhood to his formal studies in Mexico and Paris to his life in Puerto Vallarta as founder of the museum that bears his name. Art critics such as Carlos Blas Galindo, director of the National Center of Research, who wrote the documentation and information from Plastic Arts of INBA, and contemporary painters such as Ruben Garcia Benavides, Blancarte and Ruth Alvaro Hernande have discussed the work of Munoz. Ernesto Munoz is considered one of the most important artists of Baja California.

This exhibition is brought to the Factory Arts Place Complex, Arts District by ADC Contemporary Gallery as part of the International Art Exchange "Building Bridges." It is curated in Mexico by Berta Armas and in Los Angeles by Marisa Caichiolo (ADC/Building Bridges).

"Acosta's works include, among others, certain elements of roots "Neovanguardista" which are acclimated to the national context. Or, better yet, a local version components, or "Mexican" of certain European and particularly Spanish meanings of the avant-garde Postinoformalists informality; materials, basically. returns but not directly, but tamayo of the years of the last century, we water, but rather appropriates some informal, on the whole mater."

The Opening reception will be held on Saturday September 17th., 2011 from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm.
